1 MEMBERSHIP
be as follows:
ENTRANCE FEE: £20.00 [Junior membership £10.00]
[Not applicable to Cadet, Overseas, Temporary or Associate membership]
SUBSCRIPTIONS:
The revised amount of fees are reviewed annually and are reported in the minutes of the previous years AGM and on the Plym Yacht Club website.

[Junior entry to the upper age limit is subject to continuing full time education and Committee approval]
[For members’ eligible and claiming half rate, the subscription is half of the appropriate rate]
b) New members elected after the 1st April will pay, in addition to the entrance fee, 1/12th for each month or part of each month outstanding in the membership year PLUS a premium of 1/12th of the subscription for the class of membership to which he/she is elected. [Plym Yacht Club Constitution Rule 2.14 refers]
c) A list of applicants awaiting membership vacancies in order of application date shall be displayed on the Club notice board.
d) Any change in category of membership to include a new member, requires the original member to complete a new application form for publication and consideration by the Committee in the usual way.
e) The minimum age for application for Cadet Membership shall be 11 years as laid down in the club Sailing Policy document Annex A.
f) Temporary Membership shall be available at the discretion of the Committee and limited to 12 weeks in anyone year, at fee of £5.00 each week.
g) The Committee will consider a members' written request of 'exceptional circumstances',

h) Late payment of subscriptions will not be accepted from any member who has not renewed their membership by the due date or any other date advised at the discretion of the Committee. The membership is considered as lapsed and a new application for membership must be made, UNLESS written explanation is first provided by the former member before 12 months from the due date have elapsed, to satisfy the Committee that a reasonable excuse prevented payment when due. i) A former Entrance Fee and Voting membership which has lapsed for 12 months or more will require an application for membership in the usual manner and full payment of all monies required. [Plym Yacht Club Constitution Rule 2.14 refers]
j) Associate members and Joint Associate members may become full members of the Club provided they complete the requisite application form which shall be approved by the Committee, and make payment of the Entrance Fee for a full membership and if appropriate the difference in the rate of Annual Subscription for the complete current membership year will be paid.
2 CADETS
a) Individual Cadet membership applications may be submitted in the same way as other applications for election to membership but will be seen by a nominated member of the Sailing Committee for consideration prior to countersignature in the Flag Officer section of the application.
b) Parents or Guardians of Cadets shall be responsible for them at all times when the cadet(s) are engaged in Club activities or on the Club premises and shall be answerable to the Committee for the Cadets' actions.
c) Cadets shall be allowed into the Bar area at the discretion of a Club Officer; the time(s) may be restricted.
d) Cadets under the age of 14 years and not accompanied by an adult must vacate the Club premises by 2200 hours unless prior arrangements have been made with a Committee member.
e) DARTS OR OTHER OBJECTS LIKELY TO CAUSE DAMAGE OR INJURY TO MEMBERS OR PROPERTY ARE NOT TO BE USED in any Room of the Clubhouse during activities involving Cadets.
3 HOUSE
a) Opening Hours -
Rule 8.5.
b) NO PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS SHALL PURCHASE OR CONSUME INTOXICATING LIQUOR WITHIN THE CLUB PREMISES.
c) In the interests of safety and keeping 'Fire Exits' CLEAR, parking in front of the Fire Exit of the Club is not permitted.
d) The Hon. Treasurer/Rear Commodore House shall present a report and financial statement for the preceding year at the Annual General Meeting, on behalf of the Wine Committee. [Plym Yacht Club Constitution Rule 8.2 refers]
e) The Wine Committee will pay all monies required to be paid to the House Secretary/Rear Commodore House/Hon. Treasurer acting on behalf of the Hon. Secretary who must be kept informed. [Plym Yacht Club Constitution Rule 8.2 refers]
f) No persons are permitted to serve or assist behind the Club bar without the prior approval of the Wine Committee and the Committee as submitted by the Rear Commodore House who administers the Bar on behalf of the Wine Committee and the Committee. All such persons receiving payment for the work will be required to complete an IRD P46 and to be paid through the payroll of the Club.
g) The Wine Committee of the Club, will during the Club year, meet at least on a quarterly basis, and make written activity report to the Committee, for approval as may be required.
h) Smoking is not permitted on the first and second floors and within 1 metre of the bar. *
j) Members will abide by the 1 metre rule (allowing access to the bar) when requested by the Bar Steward or a Committee Member.
4 USE OF THE CLUBHOUSE
a) On the occasion of Social Events for which tickets have been sold, parts of the Clubhouse shall be for the use of ticket holders only. The Committee shall determine the extent of any exclusion in advance and a prominent notice to this effect shall be displayed within the Club for three weeks before the event.

5 ADMINISTRATION
a) The Club shall maintain an account at a reputable Bank or Building Society.
b) Any expenditure incurred by the Commodore or the Vice Commodore on hospitality and entertaining the Clubs' guests or visitors shall be reimbursed on request, providing that in anyone year of office they do not jointly exceed an amount equal to three times the Annual Subscription for a Family Membership. Expenditure in respect of any special event or function may be treated as a special case at the Committee's discretion.
c) Donations by the Club to Charitable and Benevolent Organizations (Plym Yacht Club

d) Members who have any concern or complaint about the ongoing of the Club/Clubhouse should address the complaint, in writing, to the Hon. Secretary.
e) The Finance subcommittee of the Club will during the Club year, meet at least

6. MOORINGS AND STORAGE
a) The Moorings Secretary shall administer the Moorings and Storage areas on behalf of the Club.
b) The temporary use of Moorings shall be at the discretion of the Rear Commodore Sail.
c) The occupation of moorings shall be on an annual basis.

g) Only those members who have Full or Family memberships are eligible for Moorings.
h) In boat/yacht partnership cases, all participating partners must be Full or Family members of the Club; to be eligible for a mooring for the said part owned boat/yacht.
i) In no circumstances will the Club or its' Officials accept responsibility for any interest, actions, or any matters arising in the absence of Moorings Holders for their boat/yacht. All Moorings Holders must provide second reference for Emergency Contact. Any such arrangements that are made between the Mooring Holder and any other individual be they a Club member or not, is the sole responsibility of the parties concerned.
7 POLICY AND GUIDLINES
a) The policy of the Club on Sailing for Cadets, Yachts, Safety Boats, Start Box, and Club Dinghies will strictly adhere to procedures laid down in the Club Sailing Policy document Annex A.
b) The policy for Club financial control shall adhere to the Club Finance Policy Document Annex B.
c) The Club IT systems will be operated by all members only and strictly in accordance the procedures laid down in the Club I T Management Policy document Annex C.
d) Child Protection. All members and other persons associated with the activities of the Club will strictly adhere to the Club Child Protection and Procedures Policy document Annex D.
e) Code of Practice for the Management of Asbestos in Buildings is contained in Annex E.
f) A copy of all Policy Documents of the Club will be made available for members use in the Clubhouse.
